Visiting Performance - Music for Little Ones

The children responded through movement and singing to traditional and contemporary music and dance as they experienced an exciting musical session this morning.

As Tom played the Guitar he began with the "Boom Boom Song" where children had to respond with the words BOOM, BOOM . Hannah, Evie, Sam, Samuel, Athanasia and all the children responded appropriately as they listened and waited for the music to stop and to have a turn.

The children were also introduced to Sign Language with The Old MacDonald Song – and displayed good listening skills, remembering the various signs for PIG, DUCK, HORSE, SHEEP, COW and DOG. Different rhythms were introduced using Drums and Percussion instruments as the children indentified various tempos and tones on drums from around the world.

We all enjoyed playing the instruments and moving to the beat of the Drum, playing musical statues. Overall a fun interactive experience
